1.4 Maintenan
ce Safety
To ensure your
safety wh ile maintaining the mac hin e:
Review the ope
rator’s manual and all safety items before
operation and
/or maintenance of the machine.
•Placeallcon
trols in Neutral, stop the engine, set the park
brake, remov
e the ignition key, and wait for all m oving
parts to stop
before servicing, adjusting, and/or repairing.
Follow good
shop practices:
Keep servic
e area clean and dry.
Besureele
ctrical outlets and tools are properly
grounded.
Use adequa
te light for the job at hand.

Relieve pr
essure from hydraulic circuits before servicing
and/or dis
connecting the machine.
Before ap
plying pressure to a h ydraulic system, make
sure all c
omponents are tight and that steel lines, hoses,
and coupl
ings are in good condition.
Keep hand
s, feet, clothing, a nd hair away from all moving
and/or r
otating parts.
•Clearth
e area o f bystanders es pecially children w h en
carryin
g out any maintenance and repairs or when
making a
ny adjustments.
•Instal
l transport lock or place safety stands under the
frame b
efore working under the hay conditioner.
•Ifmore
than one person is servicing the machine at the
same ti
me,beawarethatrotatingadrivelineorother
mecha
nically driven component by hand (for example,
acces
sing a lube tting) will cause drive components in
other
areas (belts, pulleys, and knife) to move. Stay clear
of dri
ven c omponents at all times.
